Deborah York, Chief Information Officer

Deborah York, IIa's Chief Information Officer, has over twenty-five years' experience in a full range of information services, including the development of corporate information systems, information infrastructure strategic planning, management of special libraries, facilities planning, and automation plans.

Before joining the IIa staff, Ms. York spent 11 years with the Department of Energy where she managed various aspects of information management services including libraries, publishing, graphics, website development, information systems, etc., at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. She also managed the implementation of systems that were being migrated from non-networked LAN to intranet-based accessibility, and developed system requirements, statements of work, and implementation plans for systems.

Ms. York served on the National Task Force for Technology Re-investment as Oak Ridge National Laboratories' technical expert on Digital Libraries. She also participated in a Joint Application Development (JAD) project for developing an integrated electronic system for records management.

At Centralia College, she worked with programmer to develop a commercially available program for library circulation control.

Prior to her work with DOE, Ms. York served as Chair of the General Reference Department in the Humanities and Social Science Library at the University of Florida, and was their liaison to the Florida Consortia for Library Automation.

Ms. York holds a B.S. degree from Eastern Kentucky University and a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Iowa
